PERSONALITY: Rivalz is ordinary. Not to say he's dull, however those closest to him are so extraordinary in different ways, they tend to outshine him. He is the type of person that is comfortable with this role, though, and does not display envy for being the backdrop to their shine. Though he's not smart and popular like Lelouch, nor athletic like Suzaku, Rivalz doesn't let those differences get in the way of enjoying their friendship.

Rivalz is an easy-going person who tends to go with the flow. Whether it's supporting Lelouch's gambling on chess or Milly's crazy antics, Rivalz is an easy person to hang around. Because of this, he makes friends easily (as is shown with his fast friendship with Suzaku); and he's not the judgmental sort. He's somewhat lazy with school work, however he also works a part-time job as a bartender, so he's not without a sense of responsibility. He is a fun-loving kind of person who enjoys spending time with his friends. He definitely has no trouble getting in the spirit of things, whether it's dressing up in cat suits for a party for a cat or participating in a festival activity to create a giant pizza. Though Rivalz is rarely the instigator for the goofy antics the student council gets into, he seems to enjoy them nonetheless, throwing himself into those activities with carefree abandon.

When it comes to certain things, however, Rivalz can be quite earnest. He is in love with Milly and goes along with her plans mainly out of devotion to her. He wants nothing more than to see her happy. During her graduation event, when she shows interest in getting Lelouch's hat for herself, Rivalz becomes determined to get it for her, even knowing that doing so would mean giving Milly to Lelouch.

While Lelouch has his geass, Suzaku and Kallen have their Knightmares, and Nina has her intellect, all Rivalz has are his friends. He longs to go back to a time when they were all happy. However, knowing that's but a pipe dream, Rivalz does what he can for his friends, shown best when he risks his own life to help Nina get away. And though he failed, it shows that Rivalz has the courage to help his friends, even if he may not have the means.

Though Rivalz is rarely involved in the main plot points of the show, the politics and battles still have an affect on his own life. The first season, most of the events were just things he saw on t.v. and discussed with his friends in class. However, at one point Suzaku, an Honorary Britannian who was briefly under suspicion for the murder of Prince Clovis, joined their class. Like most of the other Britannian students, Rivalz was wary of him, but when it seemed Lelouch knew him, and when Milly made him part of the Student Council, Rivalz welcomed him sincerely. Later on, the rebel group called the Black Knights took over the school as their base and Rivalz stood up for the rest of the Student Council, getting between them and asking the rebels to lower their weapons. It was probably the first real event that showed Rivalz how the things going on on the news could affect his own peaceful life. In the second season, a number of his friends were lost to the fighting; Suzaku had to return to the army; Kallen revealed herself as a Black Knight; Nina left to conduct research for Britannia; Shirley was killed; Milly left to become a reporter; and Lelouch eventually took over as Emperor of Britannia. One by one his friends left their peaceful student life, leaving Rivalz on his own. While he still remains the easy-going guy who had fun with his friends, the events of the war took a toll on him, even though he did little in the way of affecting the wider world around him.

OTHER: Back home he has a motorbike. Also he was a part time bartender/waiter, if you need someone to mix drinks he's your guy ;)
